An EF2 tornado with estimated winds near 120 miles an hour touched down at Lone Star on 4 April 2025, along Sand Crossing Road just north of Big Cypress Bayou. It moved northeast across County Road 2225 and ran along the western shore of Ellison Creek Reservoir, at seven hundred and fifty thousand dollars of property damage. That is the most recent large tornado anywhere in this footprint.
